Tulpar-Talgo 2011–2016 carriages

During construction of Talgo tilting trains, special attention is paid to safety, speed, comfort, energy saving, and minimizing of environmental pollution. To that effect, Talgo ТНК-F61 carriages were designed for the severe continental climate of Kazakhstan, with a long lifetime (over 20 years).
The Talgo ТНК-F61 carriages possess all the traditional Talgo system characteristics (light framing, guided axles with independent wheels, low center of mass, tightlock carriage coupling). These characteristics as well include a universal carriage body and latest innovations stemming from technological achievements and requirements with respect to the specific climatic and geographical conditions and recommendations of Temir Zholy. A system of tilting is also used with the pressure distribution towards the banked turn, which provides comfort to passengers during turns without significant lowering of speed.

TOURIST SLEEPERS

There are 2 types of the carriage internally symmetrical to the longitudinal median plane which traverses the coupling center. This carriage has the same zone and elements as a 2–4 sleeper seat compartment carriage; compartments, as well as the steward cabin, are on the right side.

The interior has the following characteristics:
  • There are 5 compartments.
  • The first compartment contains 2 seats, the rest 4 seats which are located opposite each other; it means there are 4 berths with lamps, rack for personal items and telephone. These seats are not flat-lie but they have a recline back which allows transforming into berths.
Each compartment has two baggage racks: one above the entrance, the other under the lower berths.

As in a 2-seat compartment carriage, there is a rack for clothes near the window; thus, the space between the berths is used for the passengers to be able to use a small external wardrobe.

In the head of the beth, a ladder to the upper berth is installed.

There are 2 types of the carriage internally symmetrical to the longitudinal median plane which traverses the coupling center.

These carriages are equipped with the following zones and elements:
  • Automatic external entrance door and vestibule.
The WC is directly accessible from the vestibule. The passage with 5 windows is on the same side as the entrance door. The entrance to the passage from the vestibule is possible via a door that is manually opened. The same doors are installed in the compartment entrances. The vestibule has a rack for equipment and elements necessary for various systems.
Between the carriage roof and suspended ceiling, there is a heater which supplies the compartment with hot water.
In the end of the passage, there is an area for various equipment separated from the adjacent carriage by a door. At the present area, we may see the difference between the compartment carriage to the right and the compartment carriage to the left. The compartment carriage to the right is equipped with a steward cabin containing a seat, recline desk and telephone. In the same area and in the carriage to the right, there is a cooler dispensing hot and cooled water and shelves for the utensils (plastic cups, napkins, etc.). On the two carriage types, we may see a space for electric equipment and fire extinguisher.
The fire extinguisher is in the vestibule opposite the entrance door. The control equipment is in the passage area above the cooler or recline desk. On the opposite side, there is air-conditioning equipment.
